Refund Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Folia has a genuinely capable free tier, so you can evaluate every part of the app before paying anything. Because of that, our refund window is deliberately short and scoped to the plans where a large amount is paid up front. This page sets out exactly what is refundable and what is not.

1. What is refundable

Annual subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase: you may request a refund within 14 days of the charge. These are paid up front as a single, larger amount, so a window is fair.

Monthly subscriptions: not refundable. A monthly plan can be cancelled at any time — cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, so the most a monthly plan can ever cost you is one month.

Renewals: a renewal charge is not refundable. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid it; we email you before an annual renewal.

2. What is not refundable

Outside the cases in section 1 we do not refund for: change of mind; not using the service; partial use of a period; buying the wrong plan by mistake; features you expected that were never advertised as included; or problems caused by your own device, operating system, network or other software outside our control.

Unused time is never prorated.

3. Exceptions we always honour

Billing errors. A duplicate charge, or a charge caused by a fault in our systems or our payment processing, is refunded in full.

Verified service failure. If a material fault on our side stops you using a paid feature and we cannot fix it in a reasonable time after you tell us, we will refund in full or in part depending on the fault and how long it lasted.

Where the law requires it. Nothing on this page limits or excludes any consumer right that cannot legally be waived — including, for consumers in the EU and UK, the statutory right of withdrawal where it applies.

4. Fair use of this policy

One refund per customer. Refunds under the 14-day window are available once per customer. If you have been refunded before, later purchases are not refundable under that window — the exceptions in section 3 still apply.

We may decline requests we reasonably judge to be repeated, abusive or fraudulent, so far as the law allows.

5. How to request

Email support@foliadocs.com with your account email, the order or transaction reference, and a short description of the problem. You can also contact Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) using the receipt email you received.

Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record, so refunds are issued through them. Under their own policy they may also issue a refund within 60 days of purchase at their discretion, to prevent a chargeback — this can happen regardless of what this page says. Submitting a request does not by itself guarantee approval.

6. What happens on a refund

When a refund is processed the associated license key is revoked and deactivated: paid features stop working and any computer bound to that key loses its paid entitlement. Your documents are unaffected — they never leave your own device.

If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first at support@foliadocs.com — we can usually resolve it quickly. Starting a chargeback may result in the license being revoked and the account suspended pending resolution.

7. Taxes and bank charges

Listed prices exclude tax. Lemon Squeezy calculates and adds any VAT, GST or sales tax at checkout based on your location, so the amount you pay may be higher than the listed price. Any refund covers the amount actually charged, tax included.

Your bank or card issuer may add its own currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fee. Those are charged by your bank, not by us, and we cannot refund them.
